I chose this project for my Girl Scout Gold Award with the idea of wanting a conservation-type project. Three Rivers Parks owns property where wildlife are given a safe environment to exist. This video was intended to make building bluebird houses as volunteer work a more user-friendly task. Hopefully, the common person who may not know much about wood crafting will be able to create a bluebird house.This video will show you the steps of how to build a Blue Bird House. What you will need: Wood: -Roof: 1"10" Pine -Back/ Front/ Sides: 1"12" and 2"4" and 1"4" Cedar Screws and Nails: -1 5/8" for roof -2" for side panels -2 1/2" for ceiling and floor -1 1/2" hard trimmed nails for bottom of front swinging door -8d galvanized nail for top of front swinging door (removable) Misc.: -Hot Glue-gun -Drill -Table Saw -Ruler (regular and L-ruler for 90angle measurement for sides) -1 1/4" circular drill bit (see video^for front entrance) -1/4" drill bit for ventillation holes -pre-drilling drill bit -counter-sinking drill bit Pre-Assembly: -Measure twice, cut once. always. 1. label and drill hole in front piece (1"4"): sand until desired look is achieved 2. label roof center: pre-drill then countersink (offset holes) 3. label and predrill sides (personal preference if you countersink or not on this part) 4. drill ventilation holes on both sides (1/4" drill bit with a total of 4 holes) Assembly: 1.
