Do it yourself insulation for walls of existing houses, using fibreglass (either recycled or new) - by cutting portholes into the spaces in the walls, stuffing the material in, and replacing the cutout securely, then filling the cracks to produce a smooth wall you can paint. STEPS: DRILL/JIGSAWall the wall cutouts, LABELLINGthem 1,2,3 on both the cutout & the wall, for easy finding. SAND their, and wall hole, edges smooth for easier sealing later. DRILL all the holes in the cutouts and in the walls (either side of each cutout, for securing the sticks), and COUNTERSINK so screws will all be buried a bit. SAND all those holes flat too. DRESS UP like a spaceperson so you don't choke or get scratchy fibreglass rash. PACK all the insulation in, leaving no spaces for heat to drain through - can can cause 30% loss of efficiency for that void. INSTALL ALL THE STICKS the sticks, behind the cutout hole - SCREW through the wall into the sticks. INSERT THE CUTOUTS into their original places and SCREW through them into the stick, so they're fixed in place. Use porridge-gooeyness PLASTER to fill all the cracks. SAND and PAINT.
